In 2023, a contract was on the table for FedEx pilots. A site called tonyticker.com ran a live counter showing what a widebody captain would earn under it — framed as money being lost every second the deal wasn't signed. The math assumed 884 credit hours a year at $0.00207993/sec.
The 2026 contract includes a $150,000 signing bonus and hourly rates that start $59/hr above the 2023 offer, growing to $103/hr above by 2030. This runs the same math on both.
This doesn't change the methodology. It simply updates it.
